Standing Strong With Little Miss Brenna 🤍

Today’s cup of tea is being poured with extra warmth, love, and community spirit — and it’s all for a special little girl named Brenna Benoit.

Brenna is a brave, bright, and beautiful 7-year-old from Nova Scotia who has been defying the odds since the day she was born. Arriving into the world at just 24 weeks and weighing a tiny 1lb 7oz, Brenna spent 161 days in the NICU — fighting through meningitis, countless procedures, and long stretches of uncertainty. And through it all, she’s shown us what true resilience looks like.

But Brenna’s story didn’t stop once she left the hospital. Diagnosed with cortical visual impairment and GMFCS lll cerebral palsy, her journey has included countless hours of therapy, doctor visits, and innovative approaches to help her gain mobility and independence. Her family — Nora, Albert, and her little sister Mara Quinn — have been by her side every step of the way, moving mountains to make sure Brenna has access to the care and tools she needs to thrive.

Now, Brenna is facing her biggest hurdle yet.

Due to the spasticity caused by her CP, Brenna’s left hip has become dislocated. Without intervention, this condition will continue to cause pain and limit her already hard-earned mobility. The procedure available in Canada can reduce pain but won’t improve her function or allow her to walk again.

But there is hope — and it lives in the hands of Dr. Nuzzo, a U.S. surgeon who developed a breakthrough “Café Door” hip procedure. Unlike traditional surgeries, this one restores both mobility and function. With this surgery, Brenna can start rehab almost immediately and has a real chance to stand and walk again. Standing would mean not only freedom and confidence but also massive improvements to her overall health — from circulation and digestion to mental wellness and sleep.

The catch? It’s not covered in Canada, and the cost is steep. The family needs to raise $100,000 CAD to cover the surgery, travel, leg braces, and post-op rehab. $85,000 CAD is due by October 28 to secure Brenna’s surgery date on November 11.

Here at TGQ, we believe in the power of community. We believe in stepping up when one of our own needs support. And most of all, we believe every child deserves the best possible shot at a happy, healthy future. 💛

So we’re asking our TGQnity to rally for Brenna.
